Prior to founding The Internet Works in 2009, Chris was Sales Director on the main board of a listed media company. For him “there is no substitute for hard work, tenacity and focus – but an extensive ‘little black book’ and a lot of experience certainly helps”. Chris is also the Chairman of sister company, The Event Works and acts as the CEO of Crimson Startups and as a Director of sister company, The Vape Works. Outside of work, when he is not spending time with his wife and his two little daughters, he is ‘networking’ at the pub.
Kelvin, or Kevlar Kelv as he’s sometimes known, can not only perform super human sales feats but is also known to spend slightly too much time in the gym kick-boxing so his sales team always treats him with the greatest of respect. A self confessed petrol head, when not working or spending time with his family Kelvin can be found speeding around on his Baotian 50cc scooter which apparently “goes like a rocket” (he also owns an ER6F). He has also invented and refined his own weight loss plan – the Double Chocolate Gateau diet. Eat one before bedtime once a week and you’ll actually lose weight.
Sam is co-founder and Technical Director of The Internet Works, as well as founder and CEO of our sister company Everlution. As a computer programmer with strong commercial instincts, he has a hands-on approach to client engagements and the company’s philosophy reflects his informal, hard-working style. During his career, he has helped recode and relaunch dozens of client websites, bringing them scalable and robust solutions.
Kim has a wealth of accountancy, tax and commercial experience having worked across a range of sectors in both practice and industry. He is FCCA qualified and his passion focuses on SMEs with a high growth strategy and international ambitions. Through financial and non-financial policy, process and procedures Kim will help ensure that the appropriate controls are in place to support The Internet Works’ growth aspirations.
Head of publisher services
Monty is the ultimate jack of all trades, running a team with over 30 active suppliers over The Internet Works’ entire publisher portfolio of 60 sites, with half a billion page views, generating over 3 billion ad calls a month.
He specialises in bespoke partnerships, tailoring the digital ad space around each publisher, and knows that each publisher’s values, goals and business models work in very different ways. If Monty can’t make you money from your website – you may in the wrong game.
Ralph du Plessis
Head of search
Ralph started his career in 1999 at a startup in London doing everything from ad sales to SEO and design.
He has since worked in both agencies and client side, primarily on Search Marketing (PPC & SEO) with Content Marketing and Social Media now key components of that mix.
He moved to Silicon Valley in 2011 for an 18 month stint before returning to the UK where he now oversees Content Marketing and SEO for a selection of clients in the UK and US.
Head of content
An experienced business journalist, Oli works across group companies and in-house for clients, writing, editing and commissioning external contributors. When he’s not writing, you might find him at one of London’s cricket or football pitches, or, like any journalist worth their salt, digging up stories down the pub. TIW occasionally lets him loose on a long lead to work for the news services at major sporting events, including the London and Sochi Olympics.
